SUSTAINABLE WITH GREEN KEY

Sustainable business operations are also the order of the day within the hospitality industry. To give substance to this, more and more companies in this sector comply with the international Green Key quality mark. A number of pillars that this hallmark strives for are: energy and water savings, recycling and sustainable procurement of hospitality textiles. SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY TEXTILES AND GREEN KEY

Green Key sets a number of mandatory and optional standards. The extent to which the optional standards are met in addition to the mandatory standards determines whether a Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate is issued. Compliance with sustainable textiles is an optional standard for all business sectors (such as hotels and holiday parks):

The participant has at least 1 item of bath linen in use that has a sustainability label.
The participant has at least 1 item of bed linen in use that has a sustainability label.
The participant has at least 1 item of table linen in use that has a sustainability label.

BONUS: In addition to the above standards, the participant must purchase at least 1 textile product in a structurally responsible manner.

HeboVanDijk and Green Key

The sustainable textile collection of HeboVanDijk saves the environment while maintaining comfort and quality for the guests and meets the standards set by Green Key. HeboVanDijk is certified for the sustainability labels GRS, OCS Blended and GOTS. GRS (Global Recycled Standard) stands for textiles that consist of at least 20% recycled fibers. At HeboVanDijk that percentage for bath linen is no less than 80%! The quality marks GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OCS (Organic Content Standard) guarantee the biological status of our textiles. In addition, all HeboVanDijk articles meet the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 standard and are therefore free of harmful substances, which can cause skin irritation, for example.

In addition to the standard sustainable collection of white hospitality linen, HeboVanDijk offers a unique sustainable hotel textile collection under the name e_cotton: a colourful range of bed linen and bath linen with organic cotton (OCS Blended label, Green Key approved).
