OCS LABEL -
ORGANIC COTTON

The Organic Content Standard (OCS) checks the presence and quantity of biological material, such as organic cotton, in the final product and the path taken by raw materials from source to final product. The standard does not cover the certification of the raw material itself. It must comply with the organic production regulations of the country concerned. The OCS requires all organisations in the production chain, from the processor of the raw material to the last selling party, to be OCS-certified.

WHAT DOES THE
OCS BLENDED LABEL MEAN?

The Organic Content Standard Blended label is a derivative of the OCS label, intended for the sustainable labelling of articles consisting of a mixed fibre, part of which consists of organic cotton (min. 5%, max. 99%). This percentage is often supplemented by a percentage of polyester because of its favourable properties in the washing process: it dries faster, has a longer lifespan and is lower in weight, which means that more articles fit in the washing tube and trolley.

For the above reasons HeboVanDijk prefers the OCS Blended label for the laundry industry. HeboVanDijk supplies various articles under the OCS Blended label, such as block cloths, tea towels, kitchen towels, pillowcases, duvet covers, sheets, headscarves, blankets, tablecloths, napkins and Medidecks. Bathtowels, such as bath towels, guest towels and bath mats, are also available in OCS Blended version.

Yearly inspection of our OCS/OCS Blended certification takes place by the certification body Control Union Certifications B.V. Our OCS/OCS Blended articles can always be recognised by the compulsory label with OCS logo, reference to Control Union and our certification number 829448.
