What's the MEDIPAD?
The MEDIPAD is an innovative, washable absorption pad that replaces traditional disposable cellulose pads. With millions of disposable pads ending up in hospital waste every year, the MEDIPAD offers a sustainable alternative. The pad was developed by HeboVanDijk in collaboration with Dutch laundries CleanLease and Rentex.
The MEDIPAD can be used in a wide range of applications in hospitals and care institutions. When used correctly, it can reduce the consumption of absorbent pads by approximately 40%.
Sustainable choice for healthcare
The MEDIPAD is certified with the GRS label (Global Recycled Standard), which means that it consists of at least 50% recycled content. The absorption pad consists of 65% recycled material, including 100% recycled polyester on the top and 80% recycled polyester in the absorbent fleece. The PU layer prevents leakage. With a lifespan of at least 100 washes, the MEDIPAD offers significant environmental benefits.
